Holiday shopping could not get any better, easier – or fun. It starts with a great shopping district (that’s us) with gifts for every taste and budget. Add an Online Holiday Gift Guide showcasing some of the best things South Granville has to offer this holiday season. Then, throw in some street carollers and chestnut vendors for ambience along with ample customer parking. Now, the businesses of South Granville are ready to kick things up another notch.
Starting Saturday, December 18th and running to December 24th, the South Granville Business Improvement Association and Flight Centre will be offering Gift Wrapping Services to customers with an aim to give back to the community.
“Not only will we send you home with your gifts beautifully wrapped, we will be raising funds for two organizations that the BIA highly respects and wants to support,” says Sharon Townsend, executive director of the SGBIA. “South Granville will be giving 100% of all donations received for wrapping services to Covenant House and the Coast Mental Health Foundation – both organizations work in our local community and they do great work”.
Covenant House Vancouver exists for those young people for whom there is often no one else – young people who have either willingly fled physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse or those who have been forced from their homes.
Coast Mental Health Foundation supports community mental health programs that help return people to better mental health so they can share their gifts and talents with society. Coast’s goal is to increase assistance for programs that provide supported housing, employment and community service centres to those in need and that help mental health consumers achieve practical goals.
