The Ian Tan Gallery on South Granville presents a Spring Group Show featuring Contemporary Canadian Art by Peter Harris, Carol Haigh, Kristofir Dean, Dana Irving, Richard Cole, John Beder, Tiffany Hastie, Erika Toliusus, Madeleine Wood, Tim Fraser, John Ogilvy and Ron Parker.

The Spring Group Show, from April 2 – 21, 2011, introduces Artist Peter Harris. Best known for his oil paintings of urban inspired landscapes, Harris’ new works focus on the modern North American landscape and a discovery of beauty in the most mundane urban developments and plays with the use of light in hopes of getting people thinking anew about their surroundings.

Also in the Spring Group Show, Vancouver Artist Dana Irving. Her work is inspired by the nature of the Pacific Northwest and is influenced by North American landscape painters of the 1930’s and 40’s. An exploration and expression of the drama of light and shade, the animation of trees and hills and the weather around them, Dana Irving’s dramatic yet whimsical paintings have been described as, “Emily Carr meets Dr. Seuss”!
