Bau-Xi Gallery on South Granville presents an exhibition of work by gallery artists David T. Alexander and Andre Petterson until July 6, 2012.
Andre Petterson attempts to capture the essence of a split-second in time. His current photography-based work explores various themes of lighting to create elements of mystery. Rembrandt and the Dutch masters’ use of light have strongly influenced Petterson; important elements are highlighted and the mind must fill in the rest.

David T. Alexander relies on firsthand experience as a source of inspiration for his landscape paintings. His wilderness hikes have taken him into remote areas of the Rockies, along the rugged shores of Greenland and Baffin Island, into the deserts of New Mexico, and to Holland, Germany, Belgium and in 2002 to Iceland. David has recently returned to British Columbia, where he has been painting in remote areas of the interior.
