For the month of September 2012 Uno Langmann Limited presents the exhibition En Plein Air.
Artists have long painted the outdoors, however, in the mid-19th century the arrival of oil paints in tubes and the use of portable easels led artists to create more of their works in the open air or “en Plein Air”. Plein Air artists were engaged in capturing the fleeting moment, depicting the natural light that could only be truly experienced outdoors.
The exhibition includes paintings by Frank Brangwyn, Homer Watson, Johan Scherrewitz, Alexander Jamieson, Hans Andersen Brendekild, John Hammond, Viggo Pedersen, Ernest Henseler, and many others.
Showing alongside this exhibition is a selection of fine antiques and objet d’art.
