2017 CAPTURE PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL:
ART IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD, APRIL 1-28
28TH FEBRUARY 2017
The Art in Your Neighbourhood exhibition featuring works by local photographer Karen Zalamea will take place within the South Granville neighbourhood during this year’s Capture Photography Festival. Images by Zalamea will be installed in storefronts, with each participating business showcasing a unique work of art.
Neighbourhood residents and visitors will encounter the artworks throughout their daily errands and commute, allowing them to gradually piece together the show. As awareness of the project increases, Capture intends to provide viewers with unexpected delight and encourage thoughtful and spontaneous dialogue.
Public tours of the exhibition will be offered, and the project will be well promoted in the Capture Magazine and on Capture’s website and social media pages. The Art in Your Neighbourhood exhibition will be prominently featured in the Magazine, and each participating business will be provided with copies of the Magazine to give to visitors for free.
We believe this project will entice people from outside the neighbourhood to explore more of South Granville.

– Inspire coffee talks and brunch, lunch or dinner in the neighbourhood to discuss Karen Zalamea’s art, and photography in general with friends and family.
