2017 CAPTURE PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL:
ART IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD, APRIL 1-28

28TH FEBRUARY 2017

Introduction

The Art in Your Neighbourhood exhibition featuring works by local photographer Karen Zalamea will take place within the South Granville neighbourhood during this year’s Capture Photography Festival. Images by Zalamea will be installed in storefronts, with each participating business showcasing a unique work of art.

Neighbourhood residents and visitors will encounter the artworks throughout their daily errands and commute, allowing them to gradually piece together the show. As awareness of the project increases, Capture intends to provide viewers with unexpected delight and encourage thoughtful and spontaneous dialogue.

Public tours of the exhibition will be offered, and the project will be well promoted in the Capture Magazine and on Capture’s website and social media pages. The Art in Your Neighbourhood exhibition will be prominently featured in the Magazine, and each participating business will be provided with copies of the Magazine to give to visitors for free.

We believe this project will entice people from outside the neighbourhood to explore more of South Granville.

How Your Business Can Benefit from Our Neighbourhood’s Participation

Themed Window Displays and Signage
The festival will bring extra foot traffic to the South Granville neighbourhood for the month of April. Eye-catching window displays and signage will help to bring potential customers into your place of business.

Themed Special Offers or a Products and Services Spotlight
Think of ways your business interacts with and overlaps with the arts and culture aspects of this festival, and share your unique products and services, and perspective, with residents and the public enjoying the event.

For example:
– Does your business have products or services that cater to the arts and culture enthusiast?
– Encourage Making A Day Of It in the South Granville neighbourhood.
– Inspire coffee talks and brunch, lunch or dinner in the neighbourhood to discuss Karen Zalamea’s art, and photography in general with friends and family.

Create Excitement With Social Media
Celebrate the 2017 Capture Photography Festival with us online through Social Media and your business will be seen and featured in the interactions. Share your favourites, share your sense of humour, and share your knowledge.

Capture the Moment
Look for any photo opportunities to bring attention to your business. Take photos of your employees holding products or demonstrating services in front of the artwork, encourage selfies, and share on Social Media.
