Sophistication is a tradition with usthe
Carriage Trade has been coming here since the 1920's, and
it still does. Today we call them smart, serious shoppers.
What they share with their forebears is the fine art of shopping
well on South Granville.
Aside from our vibrant Galleries and Live Theatre at the Stanley, we are home to more than 200 exclusive shops and services. They pride
themselves on creating a shopping destination without peer.
No less than 30 fashion boutiques cater to cool teens, busy career women and stylish seniors. European Haute Couture labels rub shoulders with hip local designers. We mix it up and the result is elegance and choice.
Our penchant for elegance doesn't end there: Designers, professional shoppers and everyone looking for that one wonderful piece enjoy browsing in 20 Home Furnishing shops. They showcase a cornucopia of unique treasures from around the globe.
If you are in need of a makeover, you are in Spa Central here with half a dozen top rated spas ready to pamper you. Aromatherapy? Several exclusive boutiques perfume the air with soaps and skin care products made with pure essential oils.
Speaking of scents-come and smell the Roses and revel in masses of flowers that explode in brilliant colour on our sidewalks.
This is foodie heaven, too. Tickle your palate at the city's most deletable Deli, get tips on your roast from the traditional butcher and pick up some fresh baguettes at the bakery. Enjoy a casual meal or an unforgettable culinary masterpiece at two of Vancouver's most highly rated restaurants.
Two choice chocolate havens cater to chocoholics. Grab a chocolate delight and a Latte and savour while resting your feet on one of our welcoming street benches.
And let's not forget the practical side-all the major Banks are here, along with a Currency Exchange, two Walk-in Clinics, a Shoe Repair, Dry Cleaner and a Liquor Store. There's even a Sewing Goods store, four elegant Eyewear boutiques and two tranquil Teashops.
At the end of a grand day of shopping, nothing refreshes and calms like a cup of Lemongrass served with a Cranberry Scone and Crème Fraiche.
Who is the South Granville
Business Improvement Association (SGBIA)?
The South Granville Business Improvement Associations is a self-funded, self-governing, grassroots organization established
through the collective will of like-minded businesses operating within a defined geographic area. The City collects the levy from individual
businesses on our behalf and remits to the BIA Board annually, following member approval of draft annual budgets.
BIAs do more than provide a common brand and voice for businesses. We also benefit the broader communities and the city as a whole through our contributions
to street beautification, street safety, community events and sponsorships.
It took only a century to grow from our humble beginnings as a place where vacationers
pitched their tents to becoming one of Vancouver's premier shopping and cultural
destinations. Read more
