ARTWALK EXHIBITION:

Nick Sikkuark: A Celebration

Nick Sikkuark: A Celebration brings together 30 works in two-dimensional media and one sculpture by one of northern Canada’s most acclaimed artists. The second of two posthumous shows presented by MSG, the exhibition encompasses works drawn directly from the artist’s estate, including some of the last works he created. Often described as surreal and otherworldly, Sikkuark’s delicate drawings of the northern landscape and the beings—both real and imagined—that populate its treeless expanses are a unique contribution to Inuit and Canadian art.

ARTWALK ACTIVITIES – JUNE 16TH:

3 PM
Presentation & Tour by MSG director Robert Kardosh. He will discuss the life and work of the late Nick Sikkuark (Netsilik, “people of the seal”), one of Inuit art’s most celebrated masters.
