In Support of the Filipino Community in Vancouver
The South Granville BIA (SGBIA) shares our heartfelt condolences with everyone affected by the tragic events at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver. We are deeply saddened that this joyful gathering for Filipino culture has been overshadowed by such a senseless and heartbreaking incident.
We recognize that this event will be deeply felt by members of our Filipino community. During difficult times, our strength is reflected in the care we extend to one another.
As a neighbourhood serving organization, we remain devoted to a collective commitment to justice, healing and community in the face of this tragedy as we support those in shock and mourning. Your grief is shared by many, and your safety, culture and well-being matter to us. We are here to listen and to support as we mourn this loss.
Sincerely,
Ivy Haisell
Executive Director SGBIA
