Construction Update - Summer 2025
Summer construction is well underway on the Broadway Subway Project, with visible progress at the South Granville Station site. Here’s the latest on what’s happening nearby and across the corridor.
South Granville Station Construction
Crews are currently building the station roof under Broadway, a clear sign that work is moving upward toward street level. Inside, installation of electrical and mechanical systems is ongoing.
The sidewalk in front of PCI’s building at the northeast corner of Granville and Broadway has recently reopened, offering a glimpse of the future station entrance.
Streetscape Maintenance
The project team has completed awning and sign cleaning for businesses near the station. Next up: power washing and sidewalk cleaning, along with professional window cleaning scheduled for July. Crews are also focused on summer upkeep, including graffiti removal and dust control around the site.
Upcoming Utility Work on Hemlock
The next phase of utility relocation on Hemlock Street is expected to begin in July. More details will be shared once timelines are confirmed, and we’ll keep you updated on any access or traffic impacts.
System-Wide Track Installation
Track installation is now in full swing throughout the subway tunnels and elevated sections. Rail has been laid from the elevated guideway through to Broadway–City Hall Station, with progress continuing along the alignment.
