A New Chapter: Stanley BFL CANADA Stage

On September 3, 2025, the Arts Club Theatre Company proudly announced BFL CANADA as the new naming sponsor of its flagship venue. From this season forward, audiences will experience theatre magic on the Stanley BFL CANADA Stage.

This five-year sponsorship marks the next step in a nearly 20-year partnership between BFL CANADA and the Arts Club. The firm has supported everything from fundraising events to anniversary celebrations, and now deepens its commitment with a significant investment in the future of live theatre in British Columbia.

“Art is essential to the heart of our communities,” said Barry F. Lorenzetti, CEO, Chairman of the Board, and Founder of BFL CANADA. “We are proud to announce our partnership with the Arts Club Theatre Company as the naming sponsor of the Stanley BFL CANADA Stage, which will be a home for unforgettable stories, shared experiences, and the kind of bold, creative work that connects and strengthens us.”

A Cultural Landmark

The Stanley has long held a special place in the city’s cultural imagination. Originally opened in 1930 as a neighbourhood movie theatre, the building was reborn in 1998 as the Arts Club’s flagship venue. Since then, it has welcomed generations of theatregoers to blockbuster productions, beloved musicals, and daring new works — becoming one of Vancouver’s most cherished cultural spaces.

For the past 20 years, the venue carried the name Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, symbolizing another era of extraordinary partnership. The transition to Stanley BFL CANADA Stage honours that legacy while celebrating a renewed vision for the theatre’s future.

“This is more than just a naming sponsorship; it’s a powerful investment in the future of live theatre in British Columbia,” said Peter Cathie White, Executive Director of the Arts Club.
